Duvanta dosage guidelines
Duvanta (Dalmane) is an
antipsychotic drug commonly prescribed for the treatment of generalized anxiety
disorder (gad), neuropathic pain, or depression. It can also be prescribed for patients with chronic joint or muscle pain. Duvanta contains cyclosporine
as its major active ingredient. The mechanism of action of this antidepressant
is complex and is not fully understood. However, some experts opine that this
antidepressant acts by increasing the levels of norepinephrine and serotonin in
the brain, thus reducing the excitatory activity of brain cells.
Side effects
Patients suffering from
anxiety and other disorders such as gad have low levels of serotonin and
norepinephrine, which are two important neurotransmitters in the brain. In
addition, when people are under stress, they are unable to produce sufficient
amounts of dopamine, a chemical responsible for pleasure, mood, appetite, and
movement. Anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders such as psychosis
lead to a decreased level of dopamine, which in turn, results in a variety of
symptoms such as dizziness, dry mouth, insomnia, nausea, and vomiting. These
symptoms can be relieved by taking duvanta or another antidepressant.
Alternate use of
duvanta (Dalmane) is as a delayed-release capsule, which means it is taken two
weeks after it was given to reduce the effect of its serotonergic properties on
the body. Some of the drugs which contain serotonin and norepinephrine include
Cymbalta, Ambien, Lunesta, myspace, and Phenergan. However, these medications
tend to cause agitation, insomnia, dizziness, depression, or other serious side
effects. Therefore, delayed-release duvanta capsules are highly effective in
providing relief from the symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder and other
mental illnesses.
Work
Another important
function of duvanta is to prevent liver disease. The chemical compound contains
an antioxidant that protects the liver from the damages caused by alcohol and
other substances. Chroniclers experience dizziness, alcohol intolerance,
headaches, insomnia, nausea, and other symptoms as a result of their chronic
alcohol consumption. However, if patients use duvanta, they can reduce the
frequency and severity of these symptoms. This reduces the risk of developing
cirrhosis and other complications of liver disease.
Do not take overdosage
Patients should not
exceed the recommended Duvanta dosage
in any given week. If they do take more than the recommended dosage, they may
become sick or feel unhealthy. In rare instances, even if the duvanta dosage
was met, some of the possible side effects have been reported. This includes
nausea, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, difficulty breathing, blurred vision,
dry mouth, and increased sweating. If a duvanta user accidentally takes more
than the recommended dosage or exceeds the recommended frequency of taking the
medication, they should contact a poison control center right away.
How to take duvanta
Patients who suffer
from major depressive disorder should never administer quanta. The maximum
recommended dose of duvanta (20 mg) is two capsules once daily. Taking more
than this will create a severe imbalance in the chemical compositions of the
pills and could result in overdose or serious complications. Also, patients who
are taking other medications should consult with their doctor before beginning
duvanta.
What are the alternatives for
Duvanta?
Take advice from your doctor
Although quanta have not
been approved by the FDA for treating depression, it can reduce pain signals
from the brain. If you are taking any other medications for your pain signals
such as acetaminophen (tylenol) or ibuprofen (advil), you should not start
taking quanta unless your doctor recommends it. These other drugs have also been shown to reduce pain signals. Some researchers believe that quanta increase
the release of a chemical called dopamine in the brain. The more dopamine in
the brain, the fewer pain signals the body receives.
